This upcoming weekend (November 21-23), we’ll have our normal sessions: Friday 5-9pm ($12), Saturday Afternoon 1-4pm ($12), Saturday Night 7-10pm ($15), Sunday Afternoon 1-4pm ($12), and Sunday Adult Night 7-10pm ($15). We’re announcing a DJ rotation with the Sunday night session (see below). As always, skate rental is only $5 and we have Skate Mates available to rent. Announcing Winter Wonderfest
Starting this weekend, the Monterey County Fair is happy to launch the Winter Wonderfest, which they’ve been working on for weeks. The event features a walk-through light show, holiday market, holiday treats, Christmas-themed bar, and live entertainment. For our upcoming weekend (November 21-23), your ticket to Monterey Skates will get you in to Wonderfest at no additional charge. Starting in December for our two weekends (December 5-7 and 19-21), we’re partnering with the Fair by adding a $10 add-on for evening tickets. So if you want to avoid the $10 add-on fee in December, you should join us this weekend when you can see the lights and roller skate for our normal prices. Learn more about Winter Wonderfest.
Kids and Adult Skating Lessons
There are 3 spots left in our Saturday Kids Skating Lesson (Saturday 12-1pm), so if you want to attend, we recommend purchasing a ticket online since if it sells out, the limit is 12 students! We still have spots in our Sunday Adult Skating Lesson (Sunday 12-1pm), and if we don’t sell tickets ahead of time, we’ll have to cancel the class since we can’t risk nobody showing up. If you’re considering attending the adult lesson, reach out to us or purchase a ticket to reserve your spot and ensure the lesson takes place. Check the website Sunday morning to see if the lesson will take place.
Sunday Adult Night: Funk Frequencies
Night Glide (Sunday 7-10pm) is going to take a break and we’re partnering with Encounters of the Funky Kind to offer Funk Frequencies. Encounters of the Funky Kind is an analog DJ collective. Members Kenji Rei, Oh-So Ritmico, and Funky Jarocho are on a galactic quest to bring you funky tunes. Kenji Rei is a DJ, producer, and songwriter from Marina, CA. He is a resident DJ on Sweet Vibrations Radio (UK) with a monthly Neo Soul/Hip-Hop show. Oh-So Ritmico is a Monterey-based vinyl DJ with a groovy collection of music from around the world.
