Happy New Year from Monterey Skates!
We’re excited to welcome 2026and wish you and your families a very Happy New Year! As we look ahead, we’re still celebrating the incredible successes of 2025and feeling grateful for everyone who helped make our first year so special. We hope 2026 brings even more new and returning skaters into our growing skating community.
We’re open this weekend, January 2–4, and with Winter Wonderfest now concluded, we’re officially back to our normal operations. All guests will once again enter through Gate 5.
This Weekend’s Schedule (January 2–4)

Saturday
Adult Skating Lesson (NEW TIME!)| 11am-12pm | $25
(includes skate rental)
Adults are welcome to stay on the floor to practice during the kids lesson.
Kids Skating Lesson| 12pm-1pm | $25 (includes skate rental)
Family Skate| 1pm-4pm | $12
Open Skate| 7pm-10pm | $15
Sunday
Family Skate| 1pm-4pm | $12
Sunday Night Glide– Our adult-only (18+) skating session is back with an all-vinyl set provided by DJs from Pop & Hiss!
Please note that skate rental is $5 for all sessions but is included with all lessons.
Adult Lesson Update (Update!)
One of our biggest updates for 2026 is that the adult skating lesson has permanently moved to Saturdays from 11am – 12pm.
This change allows us to keep adult lessons consistent, even on weekends when we’re unable to open on Sundays (Feb. 8 and Mar. 29). Rather than cancel these lessons, we’ve made the move permanent—and we love how it flows into the kids lesson and Saturday afternoon family skate, giving adults even more time to practice.
New Wristband Waiver System
We’ve also made things easier at check-in!
We’re introducing a new wristband-based waiver system:
No more electronic or paper waiver forms
By putting on a Monterey Skates wristband, guests are accepting our waiver policy
Faster check-in, more skating, less paperwork
